Festive Window Display:
Clarification was sought from members regarding the types of businesses that could qualify to receive an award. It was agreed that businesses like shops, cafes and public houses could receive an award. This year’s overall winner was Home Stylz and the three runners up were USA Nails, The Feathers PH and the British Heart Foundation.
Gorleston and Great Yarmouth Arthritis Club:
This group had approached GoSH asking if they could give a talk to their club on the 8th October 2019. It was decided to offer the Arthritis Club a display and an informal chat but the group could accommodate the 8th October as this was set aside for the GoSH AGM.
Library Clock Appeal:
An update regarding the repair of the clock was given. A collection was taken at the GoSH meeting in lieu of members exchanging Christmas cards. Over £100 was raised and members voted to top-up the donation from group funds. £150 will be donated to the Clock Appeal by GoSH.
Following the approach last month by Dean of MESH regarding the creation of a Gorleston Walks publication it was decided that David could make use of the GoSH Archive but GoSH would not be applying for HLF funding for this project on his behalf.
The meeting was then closed and the Annual Festive Buffett took place with food provided the Shrubland’s Cafe.
Members are reminded that GoSH does not meet in January and the next meeting will take place in the Macey Room at the Shrublands Youth and Adult Centre at 10.00am on Tuesday the 12th February 2019.
